The Glamorous Knitting Lady: Books, Bags and Beaux

Wow, have I been busy! My Mum's brother, sister-in-law and two children (well, they're 13 and 16) have come up to stay with my family, meaning that we haven't had a spare minute! I had made presents for my auntie, uncle and cousins (see previous posts for details), and I am proud to say that they all loved them. Rhonna wore her scarf all evening (it is purple and silver and very, very In other knitting news, I have finished my snowflake scarf and it looks beautiful. I'm currently working on the hat, which should be finished by tonight, so I will have a lovely new hat and scarf set to wear when I go to Trentham Gardens next week. I t did occur to me that I have been what I would call a serious knitter for about two years now, and I actually wear very little of what I have made; it is either presents for other people, or homewares that don't get seen by anyone. So I am really excited that I will have something I can wear out, and wear proudly. If you will excuse me, I do have a little plug to make here. For Christmas, my Mum made me the most fabulous knitting bag in the world ever! It's pale brown suede, and about 24" wide by 20" high, with good strong handes and a gorgeous self-design of suede flowers. Inside, it has a "satellite" bag (the same shape, but smaller, designed for me to take my knitting out-and-about) in the same brown suede, plus a needle roll and a container for my notions. It really is the most fantastic knitting bag in the world ever. The exciting bit is, she is offering to make them up for anyone who asks, at £15 for a decorated version or £12.50 for a plainer bag. She has all kind of fabrics, all of which are gorgeous, and the bgas are guarenteed to be fantasic as my Mum is an excellent seamstress. I am planning on selling them on here, if anyone is interested, and offering them around at Stitch and Bitch. I'll post some pictures on here as soon as my Dad gets back to show me where the camera is. As for the "beaux" part of this, I am officially casting M out of the window, as I haven't heard from him in a week. Ok, I am sad about this, but I am not flogging a dead horse here. It is most certainly un-glomorous to do all the chasing, as I cannot imagine Audrey, Marilyn and Grace chasing headlessly over some man or another. However, CB and I have a date sometime next week, so I'll keep everyone up-to-date.
