They say he asked the woman run the water at the kitchen sink while tapping the faucet with a knife while he went to the basement to check on the pipes.After about 10 minutes the woman told police she turned off the water and went looking for the suspect. That's when she discovered that the suspect had went through several rooms in the house and had rummaged through several drawers allegedly taking an envelope that was in one of the drawers with $200 in it.
Officers spoke with the victim’s daughter and she stated that there was a drain problem in the house a week ago but it was fixed and she never sent anyone to the house on Monday.
Anyone having a similar incident occur or seeing any suspicious activity should report it immediately to Albany police.
Officers will be canvassing the neighborhood notifying residents to be alert to anyone unfamiliar coming to their door asking to come inside.
